Vincent Kompany tells Sky Sports:

"Madness. The first thing I did was say to Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva, 'welcome to the Premier League'. I thought we played well, like we did against Everton. We did not score our chances but we have big, fast, strong players and anything can happen. We deserved to win, but they made it hard for us.

"Our strength of character showed and we dealt with the physical challenge well. Overall, we won 95% of our challenges, which is a good sign.

Bernardo Silva tells Sky Sports:

"It was a tough match for us. We did not start well but we played well after that/ All the games are difficult, all the team are competitive but we got the three points.

"The manage asked me to be myself, as I did last season for Monaco. I need to get adapted to the team and I am feeling well."

We won one we probably didn't deserve to. Let's make this one count and move forward.

More from Vinny:

On Charlie Daniels goal: "It was an unbelievable goal, from an angle I did not think was possible. No matter how much you dominate, anything can happen."

On Raheem Sterling red card: "I do not know whether the crowd ran to Raheem or he ran that way. It was too many emotions to control."

Garth Crooks

Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"There was so much about this game that is getting my knickers in a twist.

The biggest controversy for me is the sending off.

Raheem Sterling scores a goal in the dying minutes, he is euphoric and goes to celebrate with the fans and receives a red card for it.

Who is Mike Dean appealing to by sending him off for that? It's certainly not the crowd. "

Charlie Daniels tells BBC Sport:

"There was only five minutes of added on time so ask the referee why we played seven. Then in the lead-up to the goal, he awarded a free-kick which was perfectly a timed tackle by Lys Mousset. It was gutting for us to concede after that and I would like to found out where he got that extra time from.

"It was a nice goal (by me). I thought why not have a crack at it and fortunately it went in."

Relief all round for the third game in a row. Thankful for the international break so as we can start all over again and dispense with the experimental selections that seem to leave players unsure of their roles and ebbs and flows of effort. We again had enough possession and chances to blitz Bournemouth. But I can't fault the players for keeping going. Last seconds goals can ignite a squad. Drink it in Pep.

Pep Guardiola to BBC Sport:

"Winning the last minute is always special. It was a tough game, it is always complicated against Bournemouth. They play long balls, balls into the channels and play set-pieces but we got into the game. We tried, our finishing was not good but we are there.

"Frustrating for us? Why? We were better against Tottenahm last season, had 60% possession but did not score.

On Raheem Sterling red card: "I do not understand the decision. Hopefully they can call me and explain why. I can speak after winning. I am talking about the decision, I am not the referee. It is what it is.

"We gave them the ball back but the defender did not move."

Eddie Howe tells BBC Sport:

"We thought we had hung on for a point, we had chances to win it too, I am disappointing for the players and the supports.

"The second half was bitty, we wanted that to be the case. I am more disappointed for the foul given against Lys Mousset, but these things happen. I am enthused by the performance, which was better than our first two.

"We started really well, very positively. Jermain had a chance to make it 2-0, we created more chances today than in our first two games, but we need to start getting some points quickly.

"You cannot prepare this game to dominate the ball. We know it would be a different test, we had to be disciplined which I felt we were, but one or two moments of class from them can hurt you."

There was roughty toughty stuff out there today by AFC Bournemouth- In the days when Stretford almost ruled football, I was always peeved when they scored in the last minutes of games, either to get a draw or to win it, never give up, never surrender- we are used to getting it done

The stuff of champions.

The Sterling second booking will be covered by this:-

"CELEBRATION OF A GOAL

Players can celebrate when a goal is scored, but the celebration must not be excessive; choreographed celebrations are not encouraged and must not cause excessive time-wasting.

Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offence but players should return as soon as possible.

A player must be cautioned for:
climbing onto a perimeter fence and/or approaching the spectators in a manner which can cause safety and/or security issues"

Pretty harsh given that he could do nothing about the fans coming onto the pitch side. Perhaps he should look more to his first booking which was petulant.

That said Dean was way too lenient in some fairly rough tactics from Bournemouth - Sterling was clattered from behind in the first half as the ball was dropping, no different to what Walker got penalised for against Everton, but not even a free kick given & as for Cook's challenge on Jesus - well, that was a yellow card minimum, possibly red but again not even a free kick

And on the Sergio front not only is there an allegation from a steward (see separate thread) that Agüero struck him during the raucous celebrations after Sterling netted the winner, but there are the rumours that he was sulking after being informed he wasn't in the starting XI and did not warm up with the rest of the squad....

Interesting that no one has put their name to that article.

On the Sterling red, the next time we score a goal the scorer should run to the penalty spot and the rest of the team should form an orderly queue behind him and then march back to the centre circle.

The Sterling decision was bizarre. I just watched the last few minutes again. After the celebration is over and the players return to the City half Sterling walks right past Dean who takes no action. None. Sterling wanders away inside the centre circle; they show Stones waiting to come on; back to the pitch and then Dean holds his finger to his earpiece turns and points at Sterling or to indicate the substitution can proceed it is unclear; back to the Stones waiting to come on and you see the fourth official cover his mouth as he speaks......and then they realise something has happened and they switch back to the debacle in the middle of the pitch.

If Dean was going to send him off for over celebrating with the crowd etc why wait? Very odd.

Totally took the shine off the win for me

Oh and as for this from Daniels....

Charlie Daniels tells BBC Sport:

"There was only five minutes of added on time so ask the referee why we played seven"

Because your player was being treated for an injury (perhaps you should have asked him why he decided to take a breather or why Begovic started wasting time in the first half)

Cracking goal he scored though
