Liverpool are a very good side but today, Man City were excellent.

Even with 10 men you would expect a bit of fight from Liverpool. They looked like they were looking for a player with spark but there was nothing there.

Love to see a full back hit a cross first time.

Also love to see when a fullback overhits a cross the other fullback is on the other side waiting to collect.

Ederson to be charged with 'simulation'?

On Sky's urging the FA Panel on diving are to review Ederson's actions after the clash with Mane.

A Sky spokesman stated :-

"We have urged the FA to review the footage of the incident as it totally spoiled our narrative for the game. The goal keeper had no right to be in that area of the pitch and it was at his own risk that he got in the way of the Liverpool player's boot - it was outrageous.

"The fact that the boot was head height and he made no contact with the ball are irrelevant and we fully support our commentator's constant whining and moaning about the decision to issue a red card.

"The goal keeper clearly threw himself to the floor and simulated having a broken jaw and cheekbone and on these grounds we feel that he should receive the maximum punishment available to the panel and also be banned from playing well and making saves"

"We have formally requested the Premier League to insist that Claudio Bravo be forced to play in goal for Manchester City. He offers far more ammunition to our commentary team who frankly get flummoxed when Ederson stops the ball. It is really unfair "

A City spokesman said

LOL yes Dubster, we look a totally different proposition there.

Thinking more and more that maybe we are playing with greater caution and looking to be more decisive. Looking at Otamendi to all intents and purposes playing out of position, iron out his errors and we are sublime.

Here we go...

Jurgen Klopp on Sky Sports:

"We had all we needed at 11v11. We had chances. The first goal is unnecessary, we were too laid back, not too smart.

"But the decisive decision in the whole game was the red card. I don't think it was a red card, Sadio didn't see the goalkeeper. It's unlucky, an accident. The keeper comes out. You want to go for the ball. I hope people see it for what it is."

Pep Guardiola on Sky Sports:

"It was one game at 11v11, it was equal, we both had chances, but the game was equal. Liverpool are so quick and fast.

"After 10v11 it was a little bit easier for us, and we played the second half the way we wanted to. They didn't do well.

"The game was open until the sending-off. Ederson, the doctor says there is nothing broken. He also saved us in the first half from Mohamed Salah.

"Mane didn't see him, he was looking at the ball but the impact was huge. I don't know if it was a red card. I didn't speak about the decision when we had Kyle Walker sent off against Everton so I will not now."

Jurgen Klopp:

"The referee was close to sending me to the stands so I had no power. I said to the fourth official that I didn't think it was a red card. Hopefully it is not a serious injury but whatever happens it is unlucky. The foot was not that high, the goalkeeper came out to head the ball.

"Sadio feels very bad about it. It's hard for him. I have had a few 5-0 defeats in my life, that is not cool, but we were not that bad. Nobody will remember that."

The quality of deliveries from Manchester City, particularly down that left hand side, have been fantastic today.

The dippers aren't having it.....

This is risible -

"Gary Neville cannot believe Sadio Mane was sent off for this, and neither can we.

After 40 minutes, our Senegalese was played through on goal. City’s keeper Ederson sprinted 35 yards out of his net and challenged Mane for the ball.

Our winger went for it, but caught Ederson in the chest instead.

For some reason, John Moss gave him a straight red, meaning Mane will be banned for three matches.

The match has been ruined and our chances in the next three games affected to.

All because a player went for the ball. What is Ederson doing that far out of his goal anyway? We hope the Brazilian isn’t seriously injured, but the fact he left the field doesn’t make Mane’s crime any bigger. The keeper ducked into his foot as he was going for the ball. What’s Mane supposed to do?!"

Errr .....his boot caught the player in the face and not the chest and more laughably......."Whatis Ederson doing that far out of his goal anyway"?

Amongst all the noise about the sending off..........Agüero has become the highest scoring non-European player in the Premier League.

He still won't make the PL XI come th end of the season I bet
