Henry on motd had it right, we are more dangerous when we play two strikers, but in order to do that we have to play three at the back to prevent sacrificing a midfield player.

I take it Liverpool will appeal this red then.

Not according to this but I wouldn't be surprised if they did once he calms down

Tells you all you need to know about what they really think about it having watched the replays.

If Mane didn't see him coming then why does he decide that he has to control it? He could let it bounce and he's still in if the keeper doesn't come.

Imagine two players going for an aerial ball in the centre of the park and one goes with his head while the other goes with his foot, if the player that goes with his foot ended up lodging his studs in the opposition player's face then he's probably looking at more than a three game ban.

The best moment of the game for Pep?

Agüero through on goal ........opts to pass to a better placed team mate and his striking partner Jesus. That would have pleased Pep beyond measure.

Maybe it might shut up the 'can these two play together' knobs in the media

That was great to see, it's funny the experts all seem to have missed that Aguero and Jesus showed signs of this chemistry at the back end of last season.

As an example, Aguero didn't have a single PL assist until he was joined by Jesus up front, he ended up with 3 altogether and two of them were for Jesus.

There was also Jesus'disallowed goal in the Derby that came from an Aguero assist and I'm sure another of Jesus' disallowed goals came from an Aguero assist too.

Perhaps the experts chose to miss it. :048:

It doesn't fit the narrative that they cannot play in the same team, that Guardiola has trouble accommodating both players, and that Agüero is 'unhappy' and his 'future is in doubt'. In essence they don't want their partnership to succeed as it deprives them of easy headlines and 'talking points'.

On MotD Shearer was critical of Agüero passing to a better placed team mate but would have ripped into him had he tried to round the keeper and had his shot saved or put it over the bar. I can hear him now "I don't understand why he did that! He could easily have slid in Jesus who was in a better position to score. Poor decision making there from Agüero. He HAS to pass to his better placed team mate".

Totally missed the point Alan. Again.

Exactly. As in my earlier post above Klopp's comments make no sense. If he is unaware of the keeper he would let the ball drop - he doesn't do so because he knows the keeper is closing the ball down and tries to get there before him. Ederson cleared a similar ball with his head not long before & his header went past Mane as it dropped so the Senegalese striker should have realised that his challenge for the ball in the same area might be likely.

The people's champions .One goal down , red card., became a shambles. No method ,no fight .but, that aspect of the game got lost in all crap about injustice of the sending off.the manager has a rant at fourth official then has a long sit down and leaves them to it. ..Then says the afternoon had been a waste of time. Of course it was ..they got stuffed 5._0 They don,t like it up em, .Darlings of media ,Not my favourites.

well said W. because they were down to 10 men does not mean you still can't win the game, 3-0 down to Spurs at HT Barton red carded - win it 3-4.

The dippers just gave up or City exposed them as a poor defensive unit which relies on it's attack to bail them out.

I actually am beginning to wonder if our captain is entering the 'last chance saloon' in terms of his City career. If this report is true he could be skating on thin ice with his club coach who in the pre-match press conference hinted at a specific training regime City have for Kompany and wondered if it had not been stuck to whilst he was away (Even though he picked up the injury in an actual match)

Points well taken. I was saying the same to wifey during the match. Tyler kept trying to give them an out by saying they were down to 10, but how does that explain a total lack of effort. They thrashed the Gooners for doing the same a week earlier.
