Yes indeed.

I put little store by the act that he walked off. When he did his ACL against Watford last season I recall he was treated on the pitch, walked off and then came back on before finally realising the problem was more serious.

He was seriously upset when he left the pitch. This may be a perfectly natural reaction to suffering from a bad foul and fearing the worst after his long lay off or it may be that he knows something is wrong.

Going to be an anxious wait for updates. Really feel for the guy.

Jacob’s tackle was utterly cowardly and spiteful. How he avoided a red card for a tackle from behind after chasing the guy half the length of the pitch Ibeggars belief. I thought tackling from behind had been ‘outlawed’ by FIFA several years ago.

I say spiteful because Gundogan beat Jacob with some cunning footwork on the edge of our box and was then chased the length of the pitch by Jacob before he scythed him down. Despicable. And he had the temerity to shout down at the injured German as if he’s faking it.

They are normally given as yellows, that's the only defence I have of Jones, whether that should be the case is certainly up for debate.

The funny thing is if he dives in like that whilst facing an opponent then it's likely a red, work that one out.

Bizarre.i hadn’t realised it was this long ago!

1998.

The International Football Association Board, holding its 112th meeting in Paris, decided upon the following addition to Law XII :

A tackle from behind which endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

To be fair, Tony Penis was true to his word, he said they'd take the game to us, they certainly did, took it to City players knees and ankles.

It was always going to be a risk to start him in this particular fixture, so soon after coming back.

Should have been a red, but even that is no compensation to Ilkay, we await the news but doubt if he will be back with us on Saturday.

And if it had been a red, it would have benefitted Chelsea, whom Stoke play next.

Gundogan had to start his comeback somewhere. I understand the thought behind the comment, but if you do this, you're letting the bullies win?
Gundogan seems to have copped for a harsh run of bad luck concerning 'challenges'.
I just hope one of Pulis's players doesn't suffer the same fate. Be interesting to see his reaction if it happens.
He really is one of the most dislikeable people in football. He was banging on (again) about our financial resources and the use of it after the game

I am just steaming about the way in which Yacob chased him box to box and clearly thought “I’ve had enough of this, doing me for skill then making me look daft chasinghimall this way...... I’m taking him out. Take that you b******d”. Utterly despicable piece of ****

Not that would ever want Guardiola to sound or be in any way like Taggart but had this happened to one of his players he would have been screaming blue murder after the game about ‘protecting players’ and you can bet that the official’s would have taken note.

Had that been Fernandinho (for example) tackling from behind Jones would have binned him given the ratio of cards between the sides last night.

I know this is from the front rather than behind but the action remains the same

Yep, that's what I was referring to earlier, for some reason refs in general don't tend to give reds when they're from behind.

I recall Rooney doing similar to Silva a few years back and getting away with just yellow too, Silva struggled with his ankle for the rest of that season.

There is undoubtedly more risk from tackling towards a player but the decision to ‘outlaw’ tackles from behind was to protect players.

Had Yacob already have beenin a yellow for his poor challenge on Yaya then maybe he doesn’t foul Gundogan
