Yes, got to be wary of Morata, a fine player with a hattrick today.

@OptaJoe

5 - Man City are the 1st side to score 5+ goals in 3 consecutive top-flight games in the same season since Blackburn in 58-59. Unstoppable.

Pep Guardiola:

"The last 10 minutes of the first half was when we started to play. The second half was the level we have been the past few weeks. The goal came at a crucial time and then we regained our tempo.

Our record at home was not as good as it should have been last season. To win 5-0 against Liverpool and then 5-0 today is so important for our confidence. The feeling is better than last season but it is only September so we need to keep focused.

Sane runs behind defenders better than anybody and loves to be here."

Leroy Sane:

"It is always fun to play in this team. I am very happy to be part of this group.

"The manager told us at half-time the game was not over and press for the second goal.

"At the moment I'm very happy, scoring goals and giving my best for the team and hope I can continue to do that but the most important thing is that the team continue to win."

We were very average in the first, better in the second. This team has set such a high bar, that this seemed like an off day.

It’s not just Sergio that is setting (well, nearly in his case) record.

With today’s thumping of Palace Cuty became the first English Top-flight team in 59 years that has managed to score five or more goals in three successive games.

Imagine the fuss that would be made is the rags had achieved this......

LOL - just read that the Player Sané flicked the ball over inside the Palace area before slotting home the first goal was Scott ‘hacker’ Dann. Excellent.

I could really have been 10, we were awful for the majority of the first half, no pressing bad placed passes and Palace were able to cut through us with ease and had they better finishers, we may have been in trouble.

Palace defended deep but we were poor in front of goal and Hennessey saved a few attempts, but the last 5 minutes it seemed that Palace buckled under the pressure and it took a piece of real individual skill to unpick the lock.

City pressed harder and moved the ball faster in the second half and you thought they would score on every attack.

Mendy will be a big loss as we have no cover at left back, when he brought Stones off, you would naturally have used Mangala and moved Otamendi to his good side, but delph it was and asa you can see although starting at left back that was abandoned as Palace were no longer a threat up front and it was all hands to the pump to get the goal difference up as that in itself is worth a point. (see season 11/12)
