Loved the footage of Pep speaking with the ball boy, apparently that lad is with the under 14s. The way it should be I think, the young players at the club should be encouraged to be ball boys.

They are very lucky to have his influence around - inspirational.

I hope they appreciate this time in their lives

It would be a great experience and maybe they do select from the younger teams lads who want to be ball boys, It was a lovely touch by Pep.

Just a note, I was told that a rag season ticket holder works in the City store, it must break his heart each day that he goes to work and has to put on the shirt with the City badge on it. (we don't discriminate) I wonder if we have any blues who work at Old Toilet™

Skoorb mentions Pep's contribution in all this ;-
I would vote also for Guardiola - his perseverance is paying off. The players are showing signs of ‘getting’ his message. Agüero’s movement to collect the ball in the centre circle created the space for Sterling’s first, his unselfish pass across the six yard box set up Sterling for his second & he set Sané up for what should have been his second goal but he fluffed it. Last season the media was aghast and Guardiola was questioned for selecting Jesus over Agüero but he stuck to his guns, demanded more and has created a more ‘Team oriented’ Sergio Agüero - our goal scoring this season is in no small part, I suggest, down to this ethic as much as other factors. I don’t expect the coach will get much credit from the hacks though.

A good point Skoorb about Pep, he has them thinking as a team not as an individual, but he is making players we think were already good, even better , I add that he took off Stones and brought on Delph and you scratch your head, but, when the game is won, lets put players in positions where they may be needed, I am sure Walker has not played CB before, we abandoned the left back in the end and played as a back thee with Ferna slipping in there to cover, it must have been some HT talk by Pep because they came out a different team.

Absolutely. He has the hacks scratching their heads but above all else he values flexibity & versatility and adapting his approach according to the game situation. I am really pleased for him - the hack said were just waiting for him to fall flat on his face in the Premier League. It remains early days but I do think that we are seeing the benefit of him learning about his squad & the league as well as recruiting players who can achieve what he wants.

Darren Lewish of the M****r tweeted this in the first half yesterday

“Still goalless at City against Palace? Weren’t they supposed to be winning 12-0 today? #reality”

I was under the impression that PG had been frustrated by the lack of tempo during the first half and that it extended to the speed in which the ball boys were returning the ball - I didn't see it, was PG encouraging or remonstrating?

Definitely looked to me like encouragement by the body language of both, although I'm no expert on that.

Edit, found a vid

I have just watched the match through in full and it looked to me as if he was explaining what he wanted and it looked as if he was instructing and encouraging in a positive way, although the poor little bugger did look a bit overawed.
