Sane followed by Merlin. Hope Mendy's knee is not as bad as it looks.

Just for a change I gave our front 3 a tick each. Kun was good and worked hard off the ball. Leroy was best and Sterling scored 2, so ticked all three. The goal from Delph was also a bit special, so good for him to get on the score sheet as well. All in all a satisfying performance in the end.

I will be able to watch the game on City TV this afternoon at 5pm west coast time so my selection will be late.
By all accounts thus far it would appear my favourite man Sane had an excellent game.

Mendy was the pick before his injury, but Silva was everywhere, Ferna again in the engine room where no-one sees him but keeps the whole machine going and Aguero, I know he missed a sitter or two but he has added to his game and in doing so has found his touch.

Sané I believe is better than Sterling, he should have buried that chance he had, should have had a penalty, the Palace defender was hold his hand that long I though they were an item, but his goal was superb, yes a bit of luck but opened the flood gates.

That is a pretty good summation Buzz. The stars get the plaudits but the work ‘behind the scenes’ is what let’s them ‘bake the cake’. I didn’t think Silva could get better but he is pulling the strings.

I would vote also for Guardiola - his perseverance is paying off. The players are showing signs of ‘getting’ his message. Agüero’s movement to collect the ball in the centre circle created the space for Sterling’s first, his unselfish pass across the six yard box set up Sterling for his second & he set Sané up for what should have been his second goal but he fluffed it. Last season the media was aghast and Guardiola was questioned for selecting Jesus over Agüero but he stuck to his guns, demanded more and has created a more ‘Team oriented’ Sergio Agüero - our goal scoring this season is in no small part, I suggest, down to this ethic as much as other factors. I don’t expect the coach will get much credit from the hacks though.

Indeed he has Skoorb, that assist from Aguero yesterday was his third I the league this season, the same number as he scored in the entire league campaign last time out.

Check this stat out

In 19 PL games since being dropped for Jesus, he's got 5 assists, the same amount as he got in the 56 games before being dropped

He has got the message. I have noted also how much more enthusiastic he is when his team mates convert the chances he gives them - he has learned that there is joy in creating and assist, it can be just as rewarding as scoring yourself

I think he now gets just as much enjoyment at assists(well nearly as much) as he does with scoring goals.

It is great to see - you can get just as much enjoyment from providing an assist. Team over ego. Loving it.

Thanks Bama

Enjoyed the game although a lot of fiddling about in the first half.
Sane in the second half was terrific and I thought his first half late goal was very skilfully and coolly taken.
Silva and Kun great also. Stones is fitting in really well and Fernandinho is everywhere even if he almost cost us with a mistake.
