Just seeing strapline on SSN Serge reportedly injured in a car crash in Amsterdam.

At this time, not confirmed but the news is coming out of Argentina that he was in a taxi after watching concert and it crashed into a lamppost. They are saying a fractured rib (or ribs) and could be out for a couple of months.
Delighted it's not too serious but still a huge blow.

Unbelievable. YCMIU. In cracking form, on the verge of breaking an age old record, forming a fruitful partnership with Jesus..........FFS

Coupled with the loss of Mendy this seriously holes our ambitions for the season on all fronts

What have we done to hack off the Gods so much?

In Amsterdam to see a concert apparently.....

Was the driver of the cab a rag?

Do the club know what the players are going to do in their off time?
If not, can you imagine Pep's reaction this morning?
I reiterate, I am glad the injuries don't seem to be more than cracked ribs but what the hell was he thinking going to a concert 2 days before arguably the biggest game of our season so far?

I keep thinking that this sort of incident could just as easily have happened in the UK if he were attending a concert in London or going out for a meal........

But that someone doesn't comfort me one bit

Too right Rising, club has to come first but in this case I would think he had been given permission.
We'll still beat Chelski anyway and make all of them sit up and take notice if they haven't already.

True dat. But also there's the travelling aspect in this - flights, etc. I know Amsterdam isn't a million miles away but it's still a flight. Thursday night, FFS. Game is Saturday tea-time.

We should do Ozi but Chelsea will be delighted with this news and less afraid of us.

I'm sure the club knew he was there, otherwise the anti-dopers would be back on to them.

Amsterdam is just an hour away from Manchester, he could fly over, take in the concert and be back within 5 hours from when he left.

It was his day off and hardly much further than if he had been to see a show in London where he might have spent several hours travalling in a car. Just bad luck (unless the cab driver was a secret rag fan and deliberately crashed his car).

I would not like to have been in the room when Pep found out this piece of news though.

“Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday.

The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.

He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea.

Mancity.com will bring you all the latest on Sergio as we get more news.”

I still think it was ill-advised so close to the Chelsea game. There's the travel to London to factor in too.

Amazing the media, I've just read a report he would be staying in Amsterdam for observation.
Of course this could be good news that he is back in Manchester meaning the robe might not be fractured.?
However, a cracked rib is extremely painful and takes a while to get over.

Looks like I turned a rib into a robe and made it twice as bad.

Lol Ozi

A cracked rib is indeed very painful, the worst part is they say laughter is the best medicine, probably the worst thing you can do when you've a cracked rib is laugh.
