I'm sure the club knew he was there, otherwise the anti-dopers would be back on to them.

Amsterdam is just an hour away from Manchester, he could fly over, take in the concert and be back within 5 hours from when he left.

I still think it was ill-advised so close to the Chelsea game. There's the travel to London to factor in too.

From what I understand, he was invited to the gig by whoever the singer/artist was. We can't really stop him having a social life.

I'm sure this type of thing happens all the time with players and we are unaware because they don't end up in car crashes.

Correct Bluey, they are only human and need the relaxation away from the "job" like anyone else.

^Kun was invited and was on his day off. You have to have a life outside the football bubble, just bad luck, it could have been worse without a lap strap.

Whilst on the subject of that penalty miss, listen to the cheer from the press box when he missed it, I hope it was members of the Ukrainian press

Broken ribs apparently which means at least a couple of weeks off, the bad news is he will miss Chelsea the good news it's international break so he wont miss that many matches depending on how bad it is.

The other good news he wasn't the driver.

The booing has to be from foreign hacks, I cannot believe that home hacks would dare boo or in true blues fashion they would not grace the media box again ever.

My first thought was “what was he doing there” but then I think thathe could just as easily have been involved in something like this in Manchester......unless it transpires the cabbie didn’t have a driving licence etc. Having said that ........a Chrysler PT cruiser? An oddly down market choice of transport given his wages and I await with interest details of whether a multi-millionaire footballer juststrolled out of the concert and hailed a cab rather than organising a limousine from the airport & back again. I mean, doesn’t Vincent Kompany run a limousine service?

It is massively unfortunate - try not to be too hard on the young man (trust me, I too am seriously pi**ed off)

I am struggling to believe this - I thought it was only Main Road that was under a gypsy curse?

I was really looking forward to the Chelsea game, but now, without Mendy and Kun, it's not looking quite the same prospect. I wonder who else we're going to lose before Saturday teatime. Walker gets the 'flu? Kevin injures himself walking the dog? Ederson breaks a leg falling out of bed?

I too was looking forward to the game and the chance to see Sergio operate without the usual distraction of his usual antagonistic and fractious relationship with Sideshow Bob to get in the way

Just a reminder..........the current holder of the City goal scoring record, Eric Brook, was forced to retire from football at the age of 32 after fracturing his skull.......in a car crash.

Perhaps this is a timely reminder that Sergio's injuries could have been worse given the force of the impact - the driver allegedly failed to see the curve (according to Sergio) and skidded into the pole still travelling at a fair speed. My suspicion is that the driver was thrilled to have a star in the car and wasn't paying attention to the road, perhaps having a conversation whilst looking at Sergio in the rear view mirror but this, of course, is only speculation.

So, Sergio will heal and will play again and the record will become his.........just far later than any of us would have wished.

Get well quickly Sergio - you have a big part to play in our season

Simon Stone of the BBC tweeted this:

Told tests on Aguero show damage not as bad as feared. Now looking at 2 to 4 week absence. Could even be back for @ManCity v Stoke on 14 Oct

A couple of ***** on 5 live were saying he should not have gone over there and Pep will be fuming even though Pep said it was his day off and he is entitled to spend it however he wants, they were trying to say he should have stayed here then someone said he could have had a crash in a taxi in Manchester and the wheels kind of fell off (no pun intended) if Sergio wants to fly for an hour watch a concert then fly home what the feck has it to do with these dumb arses he was not rolling out of some nightclub at 4 a.m pissed he went to see a concert.
