Just surfing Sky and BBC I came across these recent publications, is this because they are fed up of City fans moaning and have put in these articles to appease us or are they genuine?

BBC - Manchester City: The steel and style making Pep Guardiola's team top dogs

Sky Sports - Pep Guardiola's Manchester City make a statement at Chelsea

Buzz, after our performance they simply had no choice but to print something positive. Normal service will be resumed at the merest hint of a blip.

Unable to find any flaws in the performance or the result they have had to suck it up and park their prejudice especially against Pep as a coach. This game may have made them finally realise that Pep does know his coaching stuff because it wasn’t only about how much the players cost and how “my Mum could win every game with THAT squad”.

In fact it has made me think that the failure to secure any trophies last season may have been a blessing in disguise in this respect. Last year it was all about him only succeeding because of the quality of player he ‘inherited’ and they banged on about how his first season without a trophy as a coach exposed his shortcomings (“maybe he’s not as good as he thinks he is?” And “see, only wins whe he has megastar players....anyone could win with those teams “).

Well, now he has taken the City squad, added some players and has made it better......and he did it on Saturday without Agüero and Mendy.

But as Rising has said.......I expect them still to be waiting to pick holes at any slight slip just as they’d tried desperately to find a wedge to drive between Pep and Sergio after the car accident.

Mind you.......is this further evidence that attention is being paid to the results and what they might mean?

The rags have faced 6 out of the bottom 7 in the league so far and have yet to face a team in the top half of the table.

That's one (correct) way of looking at it.
It doesn't take into account, it seems to me, also, of the position on the day, and what was riding on it....for example, Watford were fourth, unbeaten, and would've gone ahead of us if they'd won the game on the 16th September.
Everton had also won their first game prior to our meeting on the 19th August.

Another thought I have is that the way the media are viewing United, does this alter the attitude and approach of the teams facing them, in comparison to last season?
To be fair, this point maybe becoming more relevant to us as well.

We might know a little more after United's next four PL games - Liverpool a, Huddersfield a, Spurs h, Chelsea a.
