Hmmm. Only friendlies for England during this particular break........all three Spurs 'superstars' injured at the same time. Winks & Kane were substituted in their defeat of Palace at the weekend but even so........

Shades of rag player withdrawals under Taggart?

Indeed Skoorb.

I just hope Delph is 100% and not just going to try get his seat on that plane to Russia.

Yes, I can easily see him being desperate enough to play down any knock - after all his club captain has form for that.

Good news for Manchester City came out of the England camp earlier today. It was announced that both Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling had withdrawn from the International squad, with injuries.

Sterling is listed as having a back injury and Delph a calf strain

Fingers crossed both can properly rest and recover their fitness in time for the fixture against our current bĂȘte noire on the 18th......

Just to keep an eye on our Spanish and Argie boys, they are playing friendlies, as follows:-

11/11 Russia v Argentina (in Moscow)
11/11 Spain v Costa Rica (at Malaga's ground)
14/11 Argentina v Nigeria (in Krasnador, Russia)
14/11 Russia v Spain (in St. Petersburg)

At least Serge and Otters don't have to fly to South America.

Sorry, but I can't get enthused about all these friendlies. Meaningless matches with chances for our players to get injured don't have any appeal.

If you had read my earlier post (a page back) you will see that I loathe these pointless fixtures just like everyone else. However, this thread is exactly about keeping an eye on how our players fare with regard to injuries.
Capiche?

Didn't he injure his calf during a 9-0 win over Gibralter? - always easy to be wise after the event but even so, if there was ever a game to give an understudy/youngster a run out in...

Yep, idiotic from Martinez starting him in that game, idiotic from Kompany to not request being subbed when it happened.
