Kevin De Bruyne Must Win The 2017 Ballon d'Or
12 November 2017 09:05 Post ID: #610590
The only player who has stood out, head and shoulders above the rest this year is none other than Manchester City and Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

As a Blue I suppose I’ll just hold my hands up straight from the off and admit I am definitely biased. But, even if I take my Blue hat off and then look at the list of this year’s candidates then my vote would still go to the most influential player the Premier League has seen in years.

For well over 18-months the 26-year-old has often been described as one of the best modern day advanced playmakers due to his technique, wide range of passing and long-range shooting skills. Now, if that description doesn’t wet your lips it’s highly likely you’re a United fan!

Tactical Profile

This video, courtesy of uMAXit Football examines his use at Manchester City and takes a look at his statistical output over the last three seasons.

2017 Ballon d'Or Nominees

Just in case you didn’t know - the Ballon d'Or is an award given to the best-performing football player around the world in 2017.

The selection is done by a panel of judges comprising of 173 journalists selected from all over the world.

David Ginola will announce the winner via a French TV station around 9am on 7 December.

Where’s Your Money?

Cristiano Ronaldo is the bookies favourite at 1/33 while Neymar is second favourite – 33/1. KDB is currently 150/1 (shocking!).

Will the worldwide journo’s see sense?

What do you think?

Well I would love his talent to receive this recognition (after we re-negotiate his contract of course otherwise it will add on a few more £million!) I will eat my hat if a player from those pesky upstarts Manchester City is ever accorded this award

If Red Kev doesn't win it (which he won't, sadly) then it would be nice for it to go to Harry Kane - there's something old school about him, you can almost smell the traditional black boots and Brylcream, except that he probably wears neither.

That award is exclusively for players on the continent, from a few select clubs, Kev has no chance IMO

Not the case, Stanley Mathews and Denis Law are both past winners, but I think maybe Leroy will have a chance over the next 10 years, fingers crossed.

He is getting plenty of mentions around the place so perhaps he has a good chance of pulling it off ahem, so to speak!
