The Blues will be travelling across the Pennines to Huddersfield the 11th largest town in the UK and a town which boasts a history being recorded in the Doomsday Book 1086.

Harold Wilson, Derek Ibbotson, James Mason and Patrick Stewart amongst many other famous people were born in Huddersfield, The Latter still an ardent supporter of the 'Terriers'

Huddersfield Town AFC were formed in 1907 but it was only in 1920 when they entered the Football League.

They have won the FA Cup and were the first ever Club to have won the old First Division title 3 seasons in succession 1923/24 1924/25 1925/26

Peter Doherty and Denis Law famously played for the Terriers and Bill Shankly managed them in the mid 50s (what ever happened to Bill)

City's Overall record between the clubs

League P68 W21 L25 D22
FA Cup P6 W3 L3 D0
League Cup P2 W1 L1 D0

P76 W25 L29 D22

So we have some catching up to do and we have never played them in the Premier League.

City having played Feyenoord in midweek, with a much reduced team strength still managed a to record a win courtesy of a Raheem Sterling goal which confirms City as Group winners, whilst Huddersfield were soundly trounced last weekend 4-0 by AFC Bournemouth, but i am sure the fact that because Manchester City are the opposition, they will want to up their game and City will want to maintain the gap between themselves and the chasing pack.

Can be viewed by subscription to SKY Sports in the UK.

Player to watch
Aaron Mooy, was purchased from Manchester City at the beginning of the season although he had already been on loan to Huddersfield during their promotion season to the Premier league 2016/17 and remains arguably their best player.

City Team News
Out
The loss of John Stones with a hamstring injury can be laid squarely at the door of the England Manager, but City will grin and bare it.

Benjamin Mendy 'Tweet Master' on the road to recovery already and has already done some light training

Doubtful

Vincent Kompany, not in the squad in midweek, but that may be just a precautionary measure, Pep putting our Captain in cotton wool, but right now we need the big lad to stay fit.

Buzz's picks.

Ederson
Walker Kompany Otamendi Delph
Fernandinho Silva, De Bruyne, Sané Sterling
Jesus

Berti - Bravo, Danilo, Aguero, Mangala, Bernardo, Gundogan, Touré Yaya

prediction a City win, but not a runaway one.

Referee: Craig Pawson
Assistants: Lee Betts, Ian Hussin
Fourth official: Neil Swarbrick

We must not underestimate the terriers, they did beat the Rags. We would be expected to win this game with our superior quality in midfield and up front. I predict a 1-3 away win. Come on City!

quite a few clubs will close the gap today chasing down City, but Sky are continuing their programme of getting experts to find a way to beat us.

It probably won't happen but I wouldn't mind Mangala keeping his place, both as a sort of show of faith/confidence booster and to keep him up to speed in the event of VK4 breaking down and Adarabioyo not being trusted with a defensive berth.

Quite similar results in terms of wins etc in fixtures between the clubs. Huddersfield clearly another club without any history. Always liked their kit, nice shade of blue in the stripes.

A win today will be great after the Chelsea , Liverpool result plus Spurs seem to be fading. The rags have the luck of the devil.

Still early days in the season for any predictions, remember the Rags were 8 points clear with 6 games to go, we have 26 games to go.

The worrying thing is that the rags are getting wins from playing total tripe.

As John says above we have to be on our game every game.

They scraped past Brighton with a flukey og. Every week I keep thinking their good fortune will turn but it never does.

I wonder if Sky would do a series of 'How do we stop Them' if it was Stretford at the top of the table.

When the rags have been out on their own in the past, I don't ever remember such articles about them in that context, so the answer is a resounding 'no'.

Another Sky series to please the masses, one can only believe that they chose the Huddersfield game because they beat Stretford and they hope they will do the same to us.

Huddersfield. Only an insane ref performance or crazy no show will peg us back today. I am not buying the hope springing eternal amongst the hacks that Huddersfield will be hard to beat. Their poor results speak for themselves. We have places where we need to be and I fully expect our players to be pumped up by the gaffer who knows we have an array of dropped points and lack of goals yesterday to capitalise upon. Plus, we like playing away. 0-2 City at least.

I don't think under Pep that we wont turn up because he will eject them from the premises.

I note Hoddle once again had the blinkers on yesterday saying you cannot play out from the back.

The sheer gall of Hoddle. 25 games unbeaten and he says that. Tosser.
