Straw grasping reaches new heights....or depths

Unable to fault City's performances, style of play, the number of goals scored or the manner in which they are delivered and incapable of genuinely agreeing that the coach they derided for 'not winning anything in his first year' actually seems to be good at his job, the hacks and City -haters have opted for a different approach.

Try and get Guardiola banned.

After the bizarre interpretations of Pep's animated conversation with Nathan Redmond after Sterling had put the sword to the time-wasting Saints they have opted to try and get the FA to investigate the incident - using, in some bizarre logic, the argument that everyone picks on Moaning Maureen and the school playground excuse of "well if he did that then he'd be in trouble".

The idea that the standards of behaviour or excuse for football that this guy has delivered throughout his career should provide a benchmark for others is somewhat baffling.

The MEN lead the charge in trying to stir things up....

"M********* U***** should be furious if Man City coach Pep Guardiola avoids ban"

Stuart Brennan from the same stable however offers a different perspective...

"M********* U***** fans' reaction to Pep Guardiola vs Nathan Redmond is ludicrously over the top"

They really are getting desperate, it's hard to blame them I suppose.

That is outstanding - well done to Redmond

He is spot on with the comment about it being 'lazy journalism' - a fact that is so common these days and which we see day in day out as editors and website managers encourage the writing of garbage to generate clickbait.

It seems to have done the trick with all the media frothing being forced to subside as they realise there is no basis for a campaign to get Guardiola banned.

FA are requesting Pep's observations. Has until Monday to respond.

He compliments a player and has to explain himself.

Wenger accuses a player of cheating and no such request is made by the FA.

I know. It stinks doesn't it. The player himself has made it clear that there are no issues but this is not enough for the FA.

Meanwhile Lurkarkoo twice tries to kick an opponent and gas no case to answer.

The guiding hand of Gill at work once more....

Apparently the FA have received a complaint. It is not revealed who has complained but the FA say that as a complaint has been lodged, they must "investigate". My house is on it being a rag of some description looking to get Pep a touchline ban for the derby.

Another thing coming out about this is that Southampton have not complained, so my conspiracy theory stands.

It's fooking weird is what it is mate, yes Pep was maybe a bit manic but there's nothing more to it, the song and dance being made about it is all a bit silly.

It is very bizarre. Redmond clearly has no issue so where is the drive coming from that merits the FA asking Guardiola to explain his actions. And as you stated earlier BD how come Wenger was not asked about his accusation of diving vs Sterling? If he accuses a referee of cheating he would be charged by the FA before he left the stadium

It absolutely stinks and I cannot believe this isn’t being driven from within the FA

Yes I remember that well. He went on the pitch and put his arm round him. If I remember correctly Arter's wife had just delivered successfully a new baby (they lost their first daughter). I think he was congratulating him on the new arrival.

So Pogba says he'd like to see a rival get injuries, the day that interview is released he then goes and gets sent off for a reckless challenge against another rival.

I wonder will the FA ask for his observations.
