The FA Cup Third Round Draw

We are No 24.

Things to expect from the third round draw for the FA Cup:-

1. The rags will be drawn at home against lower league opposition
2. The rag match WILL be televised
3. City will be drawn away from home against Premier League

The draw will be screened live by BBC2 and BT Sport 1 with programmes beginning at 7pm (draw approximately 7.10pm) from Slough's Holloway Park. Unless they follow the lead taken by the another cup competition and promise a Live Draw only for there to be 'technical difficulties' in an otherwise faultless platform.......and then post a video of the draw once they got the correct outcome.......

Third round ties will take place across the weekend of January 5-8, 2018 and winning clubs will pick up £67,500 from the FA Cup prize fund.

The Rags will be drawn against a lower league opposition, irrelevant whether home or away, but will there be warm and cold balls. You F**king bet there are as 3. is a cert, but not on TV.

City v Burnley

Two thirds of the teams left when our name came out were championship, L1 or L2........and of course we get PL side

The rags of course play a championship side at home - Derby County

A home game in the FA Cup, can't be that bad surely.

No indeed it isn’t.

The FA however are launching and investigation into how this aberration occurred - it seems Hoddle and Jenas got their balls mixed up

Happy with a home draw against a side lower than us in the table - plus we have already beaten Burnley this season whereas for the rags Derby will be an unknown quantity.

And it doesn't matter if the rags are on TV - we don't have to watch it do we, or is there some unwritten rule about supporting City that I am unaware of....?

Anyway, got a good feeling that we will win everything this year and if we get to the final they've surely got to show it live on TV?

Agreed, we don't want too much exposure, it might give opponents ideas on how to get a result against us

Go Derby!
Playing against better teams keeps our players on their mettle.
Playing against the likes of Derby will be playing against players who will give their everything to beat a top team and I do mean everything, so the risk of injuries is higher.

That is a very valid comment Ozi - it does help keep the players focused. Still may provide an opportunity to rest one or two first picks for 45 minutes perhaps.

We don't want to see any more rag players injured than is strictly necessary.

Which is none.

Not suggesting anyone should go out and injure anyone Kenny, just saying there is a greater chance of them when playing clubs who are on ado or die mission mate.

Disappointed with this draw, only because the likelihood of the younger lads getting meaningful game time is lesser than if we'd drawn a non PL team.

I am not sure if Pep will give the Domestic Cups his 100%, I could be wrong but It would ease the schedule for other important challenges.

You didn't read here first I suspect, but.... and nearly fainted, The rags game will not be televised - must have been noticed that for 13 years every FA Cup match involving the Rags has been televised live, this will end in January 2018.
