A good game for the neutral. Liverpool bossing the half for the most part. City flickering to life and showing resilience.

Klopp has down his homework and his players are shutting down the spaces.

We were poor for their goal. Lost out in a tackle and allowed OC to get a run. Powerful shot - can’t really fault Ederson.

Great work from Sané foe the equaliser - superb control of the pass, still had two players to beat as well as th keeper

Honours even.

Big 45+ minutes coming up

I remain confident. Given that we are the away team, this is pretty even.

Pep will tweak things, and we'll win the second half.

Kun to get the winner.

Agree. This season we have often been better second half once Pep has wound into them.

An exciting game living up to expectations. 1-1 looks fair on the balance of play. Two key elements. Can has been the chain in Liverpool’s work rate. KDB is City’s ever present threat creator. All to play for!

Their keeper is dodgy. We really must seek to work him.

So often you build-up games and they turn out as 0-0s, but this has been brilliant. You've got to be a good player to play for both these sides because you receive the ball in tight areas, but you've also got to be able to press, great performance from both sides so far.

Looking at the Liverpool goal again - the challenge lost by Delph sets things up. When he loses the ball he is out of position, Salah’s movement pulls Otamendi out wider and away from Stones opening up a gap for OC to run into.......

It’s such a fine line at this level

Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Two mistakes from Liverpool there to allow Leroy Sane to score Manchester City's equaliser - one when Joe Gomez allowed the ball to drop behind him and the other when Loris Karius was beaten far too easily at his near post.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp suggested Karius would get a run if he performed well but he's not done himself any favours there.

Game just has a different feel to it now.
