City of Manchester Stadium
9th August 2008
City face the European super power of Milan a in their last pre-season friendly for the Thomas Cook Trophy.
Valeri Bojinov on the game: For me to play against Milan it is very important because of the time I spent playing in Italy.
'They are a very big team and hopefully the boss will say to me 'Valeri you will play against Milan` because I`ll be happy and will want to score against them.'
He concludes with: 'It will also be very special for me to return to the City of Manchester Stadium and play in front of the supporters.'
Strikers Jo and Benjani are still unavailable; but there is no news on any other injuries throughout the squad and so Mark Hughes has plenty to choose from for this friendly.
The Bulgarian wing wizard has started the pre-season of with a bang as his fine goal against Celtic on Wednesday showed.
AC Milan have an embarrassment of riches in their squad and with their season starting two weeks later you would probably expect Milan to make a few more changes than City.
The Brazilian is a masterful footballer who with one pass can destroy a team.
City faced AC Milan in November and December of 1978 where they were the first English club not to be defeated at the San Siro and then went onto win three nil at Maine Road after they were forced to play an early kick off in Milan.
Milan to give City a good game; but I think we will be too strong for them. City 2 - 0 Milan.
1st leg of 2nd Qualifying round of UEFA cup against FC Midtjylland at COMS with an 7:45pm Kick off
