Bolton v Manchester City Preview

High-flying Bolton host Manchester City in what should be a feisty affair due to the proximity of the two clubs and the controversial Aguero spitting incident during a game between Athletico Madrid and the Wanderers when he was just 17-years-old.

The Trotters, first after their emphatic win over QPR on the opening day of the season will be looking for their first win over City since November 2008.

Vital Quotes:

Roberto Mancini emphasised his selection dilema upfront, stating, 'Silva, Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli - it is difficult.'

I think probably during the games there will be some moments when we can try to put all these players on the pitch.

But it is difficult and we have to have a good balance for the team.

All these players are professionals and it is important that they are not happy when they don't play.'

Bolton Wanderers defender Paul Robinson commented, 'We're not bothered by how much City have spent. That just inspires you to go out and show what you've got.'

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

Bolton hope to have new signing Tuncay Sanli available to play against the Citizens. The Turkish international is expected to have his work permit processed in time.

Jamaican Midfielder Ricardo Gardner will have a late fitness test on a groin injury.

Former City man Tyrone Mears and Korean Lee Chung-yong both sustained broken legs during pre-season.

Player to watch: Gary Cahill

All eyes will be on Arsenal and Liverpool target Gary Cahill as he continues to impress for Owen Coyle's side.

The English defender scored a superb goal against QPR and undoubtedly confirmed his status as one of the top young English players in the game.

Manchester City Team News:

After handing in a transfer request, it was expected that a host of clubs would make a move for Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez. After a move failed to materialise, the Manchester City talisman returned to his club where he could feature at the Reebok Stadium tomorrow.

Sergio Aguero's devastating cameo could result in the hotshot being given his first start for the Blues.

The only doubt for Sunday is Dutch enforcer Nigel de Jong who picked up a foot injury against Premier League newcomers Swansea.

Player to watch: David Silva

Although Kun Aguero stole the headlines, it was Spaniard David Silva who stole the show against Swansea.

The fleet-footed midfielder carved the Welsh side apart, continuing his impressive form since joining City last season.

If the Blues hope to replicate last season`s success, Silva is absolutely crucial.

Match Facts & Stats

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last five games against Bolton.

Ref Watch:

Mike Jones officiates on Sunday, the same referee who wrongly sent off Pablo Zabaleta last season against Arsenal.

Match Prediction:

Owen Coyle's men have started the season in fine form, but will face a stern test from an equally impressive City side. Coming so early in the season this game could go either way as both sets of players return to fitness. While many expect the Citizens to be the dominant side, the Trotters shouldn't be underestimated as their crushing defeat of QPR demonstrated. I predict a narrow City win on Sunday, but I still have my doubts about the final score. Bolton 1-2 City.

Tottenham away on 28 August 2011 at 13:30.

Oh boy, am I looking forward to tomorrow's game! another win and we're top of the table - hopefully for the rest of the season. Tomorrows team could be as follows: Hart; Richards; Kompany; Lescott; Clichy; A.Johnson; Barry; Silva; Milner; Aguero; Dzeko

Should be a great match ....like to see how we perform against an established PL team ...no offence to Swansea....
