Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich and joint top of the Premier League, Manchester City lock horns for the first time ever in a competitive match at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday in game two of the Champions League.
Home is definitely a happy place for the Germans as they have scored 17 goals at the Allianz Arena already this season, including seven against Freiburg and three in their last outing against Bayer Leverkusen.
In addition, it's not just the strikers who are catching the attention; goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who was of interest to Manchester United in the summer, has not picked the ball from the back of his net for 838 minutes.
Match Preview From North America
Roberto Mancini, James Milner and Pablo Zabaleta preview the game.
Bayern are expected to be at full strength albeit Ajen Robben is a slight doubt (pelvic problem). Gomez has recovered from an adductor problem and should be available while Luiz Gustavo, who was withdrawn at Schalke with a right ankle knock, came through training without a hitch.
Nigel de Jong has not played since injuring his ankle against Swansea City on 15 August; however he flew out with the rest of the team earlier today and is expected to be on the bench. Everyone else appears fit and healthy.
This match will be the first ever meeting between the two sides and they are two of the in-form sides in Europe at the moment.
Manchester City are unbeaten this season and are currently joint top of the Premier League with Manchester United. Bayern Munich on the other hand are two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
I have a bad feeling about this game and think Bayern will be too good for City especially in front of over 65,000 home supporters. My prediction on page one can be found here. Care to have a go yourself?
