Fulham vs. Manchester City

The Cottagers versus The Citizens

City head for Laandaarn Taarn in search of a crucial win. Can the Blue Juggernaut rediscover it's momentum...?

Vital Quotes:

Roberto Mancini:
'We need to stay calm and work hard...We will win the title but I agree it is more difficult in the second year. We have scored less than last year after five games but we have had a problem with Sergio.'

Martin Jol:
'Roberto Mancini is a winner and he wants to win. He must win as well because if you are at Man City then you have to win as every game is a must-win game. So that puts a bit more pressure on him probably, although in the Premier League there's pressure on all the managers.'

Fulham Team News:

OUT:
Kieran Richardson
Philippe Senderos
Dimitar Berbatov
Mahamadou Diarra
Ashkan Dejagah

Player to watch: Hugo Rodallega

In Dracula Berbaflop's absence, the responsibility will fall upon Rodallega, who is shaping up to be a fine acquisition to lead the Fulham line. City must not give him a yard of space.

Manchester City Team News:

OUT:
Micah Richards
Jack Rodwell

Player to watch: Sergio Aguero

Kun wasn't quite up to speed last weekend but is looking hungry. If Mancio runs with 'The Ground Attack' of Tevez and Aguero, Fulham can expect to be led a merry dance by the powerhouse duo. The tow together are relentless in their pursuit of lost causes.

Match Facts & Stats

THE FACTS:
Fulham last beat City at home in November 2005 with The Citizens scoring in each of their last 16 league matches against Fulham since the 0-0 at home in March 2004.

Fulham have sealed 3 league wins at this stage. It took them until December to secure that last season.

If The Blues concede tomorrow, they will be the first reigning Premier League champions to concede a goal each of their first 6 matches of the following campaign. Do we not like that!

The champions have scored 10 goals in the first 5 league games - at this stage last season, the number was 17.

City dropped just 2 points from the first 36 last season; this side of the summer we have already dropped 6 from the first 15.

Fulham's total of 12 goals is the league's joint highest tally alongside the jammy Rags.

Ref Watch:

Mark Halsey, Lancashire...Last Season: Officiated No Manchester City Fixtures. - 2011/12: 33 Games, 75 Yellows, 0 Reds - 2012/2013: 5 Games, 10 Yellows, 2 Reds.

Match Prediction:

Johnny On The Spot: Nothing other than a win will suffice for City at Fulham, no question about it. The squad are not playing well and Planet Blue's restlessness was exacerbated by another confused performance in the League Cup defeat to Aston Villa.. Having shipped 16 goals in 8 games City must steady the ship and dare I say it a lesson could be learned from the rags reaction to the 1-6. A series of 1-0's right now would be welcomed with relish. Again, City have the tools to beat Fulham at a difficult place to go, but a happy hunting ground for The Blues. Based on what's gone before to date, in hope rather than assurance I believe City's strikers should seal a win whilst the defence rally to a first clean sheet of the season.Fulham 0 City 2

How many of the rags' goals have been penalties i wonder? Think this will be the game where things start to click for City, although I won't mind a nervy 1-0 as long as we keep a clean sheet!
