The Etihad Stadium
City's new in-Etihad training routine is up and running ahead of a potential Cardiff backlash against visiting Hull City
'Set pieces are very important and we must learn from last week at Cardiff...It was a bad game for us in that way…we must improve for our next game. I think Hull have started well, they played very well against Chelsea. We will have to mark a very difficult team here also, so we will have to play very well.'
'The Premier League is the best league in the world and within that, you're going to play against some of the best teams in Europe. In my opinion, Manchester City are up there with those. It is a bonus if you get anything from games like the one we've got on Saturday, especially when you look at the players they`ve got. But as we saw last week, football, especially in the Premier League, can throw up surprise results. Unfortunately for us, Manchester City were at the wrong end of one of those last weekend so they'll want to put things right…We need to be ready for that because we're certainly in the firing line.'
20 year old Nasty was The signing of last summer and did not get the recognition he deserved at the end of a stunning campaign which debuted in the cauldron of the Bernabeu stadium. His ice cool strength of presence has been sorely missed.
Surplus to requirements at Tottenham after a raft of signings, the combative 26 year old will have a point to prove. Very often in the thick of it against City in the past with a tendency to push the legal boundaries, expect him to aim to make a strong showing as he did in Hull's rearguard action against Norwich.
THE NUMBERS GAME:
Here's a thing. City conceded goals from 2 corners in the defeat at Cardiff. Despite the media clamour this week, The Blues let in goals from corners on only 6 occasions through the entirety of last season.
The Blues and The Tigers have clashed 4 times in the Premier League. The record is 1 win each and 2 draws.
Edin Dzeko has attempted more shots on goal than any other player in the Barclays Premier League so far this season with 10.
It's only 1 win for Hull in the last 11 games at City's home across all competitions. A 2-1 win at Maine Road in FA Cup 5th Round. That was in 1930.
Hull have shipped 5 red cards in their last 15 Premier League matches.
City have been beaten by so called 'lesser lights' Wigan, Norwich and Cardiff in their last 5 games across all competitions.
HEAD TO HEAD:
League: 4 Hull Wins, 6 Draws, 6 City Wins
League Cup: 2 City Wins, 1 Draw
FA Cup: 1 Hull Win, 1 Draw 2 City Wins
Total: 5 Hull Wins, 7 Draws, 9 City Wins

Johnny On The Spot: Bearing in mind City haven't lost back to back Premier League games for close to three years, a measure of just how far this club has come, the odds are obviously heavily stacked against newly promoted Hull this weekend. Defeat at Cardiff represented a body blow to The Blues but might yet serve to register as an important early season wake up call from bench to six yard box. The return of the brilliant Matija Nastasic is timely after another reminder of just how key to City's aspirations himself and Vincent Kompany have become. Up front, already 6 league goals to the good, City remain a constant threat and a reasuring early strike against Steve Bruce's firmly parked Hull bus should in my opinion prove the catalyst for a repeat tatering like the one Newcastle copped for. Normal service to be resumed. City 4 Hull 0
