City Humiliated By Great Danes

Manchester City
0 - 1
FC Midtjylland

CoMS

August 14

Attendance: 17,200

Referee:

A truly lack lustre Manchester City performance against a part time Danish side full of energy and desire.

City players need to have a long hard look at themselves and decide whether they want to progress in the UEFA Cup or concentrate on what may well be a Premier League relegation battle.

Having scoured many match reports, this has to be the crème de la crème of them all.

Star Player

Can't think of a single player who stood out and proved worthy of being voted Star Player.

Player Ratings

Joe Hart

Without Joe between the posts the scoreline could have been humiliating.

Vedran Corluka

Made one or two mistakes, but overall, proved to be worthy.

Micah Richards

Had a reasonable game. Nothing stunning, but reasonable.

Richard Dunne

Made a few horrendous passes which let their strikes in on goal. Well off form.

Tal Ben Haim

The Israeli defender needs to chill out and pass the ball without panicking. The talent is there, however, there is still a long way to go.

Elano

Average.

Michael Johnson

If one elbows the opposing player in the face that person should get an automatic red card. How Johnson didn't get a yellow never mind a red, one will never now. Thank goodness the referee was running the field holding a white stick!

Gelson Fernandes

Nothing to write home about.

Martin Petrov

Best player in the City line-up. His free-kick beat the goalie and should have been in the back of the net rather than hitting the crossbar. Hey-ho!

Felipe Caicedo

Can't remember if he did anything outstanding.

Daniel Sturridge

Needs to get his act into gear and position himself far better. Daniel needs to score goals if he wants to oust Jo and possibly new signing Santa Cruz.

Usual story I'm afraid! Poor up front, no supply, no steel in midfield, over-reliance on Petrov. Still, at least we've got a second chance to right all the wrongs!
