The joy of six! Sylvain Distin's rallying cry to the City team that their futures could be in danger was more than heeded as The Blues turned on a scintillating, pulsating display of attacking football that left Portsmouth in tatters. This was the day when it all came together at Manchester City. A superb rocking stadium backing a mix of MCFC Academy graduates and shrewdly signed young international stars who are loving their football. I'm absolutely delighted for Mark Hughes and his management team and everyone associated with the club who have endured a rough summer. Many a hack who was foaming at the mouth over a City implosion two months ago will be eating humble balti pie tonight. This was the battering this City team have been threatening and it is only a shame that it happened to the loyal supporters of Pompey.

Well, to be honest, paultsmouth, one thing from my experience with Vital MC is that the Pompey fans have been great to get along with. No danger of a gloat from me. The most stunning aspect of our troubles at the start of the season was surrounding Corluka's transfer to Spurs. The crowing and world taking statements from Spurs fans on here was relentless. Just look at them now!

Well done to you, bet you had a ball! What a game for you to have been at. From our end, I hope the players give their wages to charity this week.

No gloating from us! We leave that to the Rags (when they win, that is!). Today was a day when everything fell into place. The link-up play between the front four was breath-taking at times, and I'm sure it wont be the last time we see it happen. From a Portsmouth point of view, you must upset the way your guys gave up with over 30 mins to go. Well done City!

The next few fixtures make for appetising reading, oliver. Liverpool and the Middlesborough revenge mission stand out.

Sooner or later City were going to take another Premiership side apart. And I am actually sorry it was Portsmouth because they are a great side, with a great manager. I like Pompey as a club and I think they will give us a very different game in the return at Fratton Park. Peter Crouch has been a City supporter, by all accounts and Jermaine Defoe is mates with some of our first teamers and Academy players. But it is obviously time for the Blue to sing! The old blue Sylvain Distin said this about the game: "It was a collective thing. Our defending was poor and so was our positioning. There were mistakes everywhere and that's why we conceded six goals. To lose 6-0 --ridiculous is the word." Sylvain, You didn't fail today. City were just brilliant!

Don't worry Pompey fans I have felt this coming on for the last few games. I have a feeling we will do the same to a few more teams before the season is out.

to be perfectly honest, Having watched us play the third best team in portugal off the pitch, after destoying everton at goodision, I had quite high hopes for today. oh well. good luck with the quest to get into the top 4 - if you make it, it'll be nice to see someone with decent fans in there... eh merlin?

Merlin seems to be showing quite an interest in City as of late pompeycarpet! I think we might be converting him ;)
