| Johnny On The Spot: The momentum is maintained. 4 games into the season, 4 clean sheets, 6 goals, three wins and a draw. Roberto Mancini will more than settle for that. The calm surefootedness that has descended upon Manchester City this late summer if anything made this game a non event. The Blues never got out of second gear and patiently controlled the game. Class told when Patrick Vieira, whose passing was stunning played a killer ball into SWP that effectively sealed the tie. Dedryck Boyata climbed and netted for his first senior goal which was richly deserved on top of an excellent performance that saw him earn the club's Man of The Match award. On this evidence City have terrific strength in depth and on top of the steady platform cautiously being built in the Premier League, are now ready to take on the group stage of the Europa League next month with almost the entire squad earning valuable playing time.
