Johnny On The Spot: Manchester City continue to prove themselves to be title contenders with another fused performance that leaves The Citizens 3 points off the top tonight...But for a shockingly erratic refereeing display from Andre "lost at sea" Marriner and the woodwork, City could have gone on to run up a big score against Bolton, who like Salzburg in midweek, infrequently chased shadows...As it turns out, Carlos Tevez was again City's match winner. He has now scored 10 league goals in 15 starts this season bringing his City league tally up to a stunning 33 in 47 games...December is a decisive month for City with sides lying in wait that The Blues must beat if we are to realise big aspirations by the end of the season...The defiant Mancio has got the side off to a tremendous start with two wins. If the side can gather momentum now, someone is going to get a real drubbing and come Christmas, City could be in great shape.

20 goal attempts with 10 on target and we only score 1. How amazing / frustrating is that.

Should have been 6-0 - most one sided game i've seen this season.

Don't care how many shots we missed. All that matters is the three points.

What I want to know is how the hackers managed to finish the game with fewer cards than us? What a poor display from Marriner, possibly the worst I've seen (P.S. Dear Mr Marriner handball on the goal line is a red card and penalty - just so you know next time).

Btw Blues. I do know what day it is! Er, we have a technical error meaning this game was played yesterday. Cheers!

Entertaining game but the ref was very poor.

I don't believe the referee was poor today,I believe he was bent. There are too many obviously bad decisions going against City every week to be put down to poor decisions.Kolarov, one foul, two yellow cards.Davies TWELVE fouls, one yellow card.Handballs not given,City players running from onside positions being flagged for offside etc etc.Sepp Blatter has got nothing on the gill and ferguson run FA.Inspite of this,City were excellent today, pass and movement was great, defence stood up to dirty tactics and long ball tactics. Finally can anyone tell me why some fans were applauding Petrov today. He has not stopped slagging City and Mancini off since he has left.

Yeah, another blatent homer of a referee, if we weren't such a despised club eyebrows (other than our own) would be raised in unison. Shocking decisions and the second goal that never was, was perfectly valid, Barry barely even made a move and didn't interfere with the play yet they gave offside anyway. Really does flatter Bolton that scoreline, it was a mauling for 80% of the game.

Good result considering bolton have probably been one of the best performing side so far this season but tbf it has been a strange start.
