Johnny On The Spot: Make no mistake about it, resilient City were made to earn every one of a massive three points by a battling Newcastle side who threw everything they had at The Citizens...These are precisely the type of results that title contenders achieve when their backs are to the wall and thanks again to Carlos Tevez's never say die spirit (35 goals in 49 league starts), City have points in the bank ahead of rivals who must now psychologically play catch up in the coming weeks...As a unit today City fought hard and again showed their preparedness to mix it with opponents where neccessary, even accounting for the latest erratic refereeing performance. Mancio will be thrilled to see the side he took on 12 months ago to the day now second in the table...He like the rest of us will be weighing up the visits this week of Aston Villa and Blackpool with absolute relish.
