Johnny On The Spot: On a demented afternoon of Premier League goal action, City returned to form and in doing so recorded their 12th clean sheet of the season. The Blues became the only side not concede on a crazy afternoon in England...City Captain Carlos Tevez's latest hat-trick has now taken him to 49 goals in 63 City league and cup starts. An astonishing record. On his birthday, the player's determination was again evident as he led from the front in hitting 2 composed penalties following 2 previous misses...Three nil to the good at half time, Roberto Mancini ordered that City who had been cunningly strengthened by moving Aleksander Kolarov up to left midfield with steady Pablo Zabaleta in at left back, to ease back on the stick and not concede. This resulted once again in the opposition raising their game, but City stood firm and weathered a sustained series of West Brom attacks...Eventually, The Baggies burned themselves out and City went on to record a league double over them, ending the day with 3 crucial points and a bolstered goal difference. More importantly, this constitutes a big confidence booster ahead of next weekend's massive clash at the swamp.

The most important aspect of todays win was the fact that we kept a clean sheet. We never really got out of second gear, but it was a positive step forward.

Tevez and Silva were magic, some really slick stuff from them, a joy to watch. Congrats to Joe on another clean sheet, he dealt well with what he had to, good solid focussed performance.

Teriffic performance despite taking our foot off the pedal again for a while and almost letting them back into it. Top class performances by Tevez, Silva, and the excellent Kolarov who is now looking like the player Mourinho praised so highly when he wanted to sign him. Ironic that when we switch back to the "negative" formation, we are suddenly far more fluid and dangerous!

Never felt ore like singing The Blues, City win, united lose oh, City, you've got me singing The Blues. Rags go down cheating in all directions to Bottom of The Table Wolves. Nice one Mick, once a Blue always a Blue.

Yeah, amazing class by old noble men Giggs and Scholes, Giggs with a kick out that was a blatent red if the ref saw it, Scholes with his Maradona attempt. Lets not get started on Smalling's elbow to Doyle's face, they really are petulant tw*ts when things are going against them. A great day, I have no delusions of winning the league but if we do them in the derby next week, maybe there is a flicker of hope. :P

I agree BD when they are on the pitch together they seem to gel and one two in close quarters are great by have quick feet and defenders must dread having to defend against these two. I am also amazed that David does not score more goals.

Feel a bit sorry for Di Matteo to be honest - worse teams have left CoMS with a point this season, that's for sure. I guess teams like Wolves, Blackpool and the Baggies disprove the theory that nobody is running away with the league this season because all the top teams are poorer - I'd say it's because a lot of of the so-called "lesser" teams are loads better than they have been in previous years.

Strange how no supporters of the scum have posted on our site today.I wonder why?

Good result but I thought we let them off lightly with just 3-0 ........we need to stop taking the foot off the pedal when we have teams on the rack ....
