Johnny On The Spot: This was as laboured and lethargic a City performance as we've seen this season. Despite plenty of possession, The Blues played too narrowily, repeatedly trying to look for passes in through the centre of a packed Aris midfield and defence as opposed to trying to stretch the canny Greek side through employing width...But for a Dzeko header, both keepers were relatively un-tested. That lack of width and real pace threatens to derail City's league and cup campaigns on the big end of season run-in...Still, all to play for in the second leg and Mario Balotelli looked lively in his late cameo appearance.

well that wasn't the best of games

The possession says it all really, we repeatedly dominate games in terms of possession but lack pace and incision going forward. And the problem is we have no solution before the end of the season. Silva is one man but no one besides him is creating anything!

That performance was as laboured as the first ten yards of a Yaya Toure surge forward. Absolutely no sense of urgency except for Tevez, Silva and to a lesser extent SWP and Dzeko. I'm sorry, but Barry isn't up to it in my book. One good game in every five just isn't acceptable. I'll stick my neck out here and say that if Milner was playing in this game then i wouldn't have noticed him. Aris were there for the taking and we weren't able to do it. I'm not advocating a gung-ho approach to an away Euro tie, far from it, but to win this game wouldn't have needed one. Just a tad more urgency would have easily sealed a good 3-0 win imho. A huge plus for me was the youthful exuberance of Ballotelli when introduced, the boy doesn't stand on ceremony!

Oh, and another thing. What's with the grass-skimming corners?!

I think the pitch contributed to the slow pace. The ball didnt seem to go anywhere - as demonstrated by about 10 passes that didnt even reach the intended player.

We should be happy that we drew, will put them out at home, job done.
