Johnny On The Spot A slow starting and lethargic City positively thundered into the 5th round once Carlos Tevez was introduced to turn the screw on a flagging County who had again taken the game to The Blues from the first whistle. All credit to them for giving City a few kicks up the backside in this tie...Early on, City looked ragged and in need of inspiration. It came from an unlikely source when a struggling Patrick Vieira rolled back the years with two trademark headers...City's midfield was again failing to take a grip on proceedings despite David Silva's constant urgency and numerous players didn't appear to be on the same wavelength as the side failed to push up in numbers when required...But all that changed with the unleashing of El Apache in favour of a fuming Mario Balotelli who stormed down the tunnel after his substitution. Despite some fine touches, the enigmatic Italian striker had lost momentum and discipline...Tevez and Silva immediately sparked to life and stretched a tiring County repeatedly, inspiring Edin Dzeko in the process. Tevez plundered his 50th goal in Sky Blue thanks to a fine through ball from Dzeko and the favour was returned a few minutes later...In the context of the season's aspirations, this result represents a timely confidence booster during the most crucial fortnight of the season to date. If City can build upon this and beat Aris at Eastlands in Europe in four days time, Roberto Mancini's team, of whom he is starting to tinker a little less with, will be well set for an exciting three months of football.

Great performance, but it took us a lot of minutes too get started. Funny thou how once tevez got in the goals and opportunities started flying in. Maybe notts were tired at that stage thou.

If City beat Villa at home in the 5th Round, The Citizens will face Everton at home next up.

WTF is going on? Two (2) headed goals -both from set pieces? Wow! Not a hugely great performance, but I'll take the result any time. Balotelli didn't look too interested, but promising signs of a Tevez/Dzeko partnership - the ball from Edin that put Tevez through for our 3rd goal was fantastic. Nice to see Tevez return the favour later on, though Dzeko should have buried his late chance to make it 6-0. Job done, let's see how we get on against Villa, then think about who we're playing - If we get through there's no guarantee it will be the toffees we play!

Yes indeed, 5th we shud say Come On Reading!

Tevez. Tevez. Tevez. We cannot lose him!

Totally agree about Ballotelli Fifth. I'd go a step further though and say he was a jeffing disgrace. Go home!

21 attempts on goal and only 50% on target, Bob you have to sort this. Balotelli deserved the yellow and If the club do get a reasonable offer in the Summer for hi, then they should take it. If I paid someone thousands a week, I woujld want a hell of a lot more for my money than I am getting right now. He has to change his attitude as it stinks.
Buzz Lightyear
Bit harsh on Balo IMO. He wasnt awarded a penalty when he should have been, and was constantly fouled with the referee happy to wave play on - when he was giving Notts one every time a player went to ground. Can understand his frustrations but also fans frustrations. Every genius is a bit mental, we just need to wait until he is fit again to see the genius shine through.

Balotelli gets nothing off the referees, in a game before his injury he was being hacked down too and the referee constantly waved play on while some of these pseudo-footballers at Stoke etc. are getting away with constant hack 'n' slash jobs. He needs to mature but it won't happen overnight.

Tevez now up to 50 City goals in 69 City League and Cup Starts.
Johnny Baguette
He's not a 17 year old kid. Sure he should have had a nailed-on pen but his reactions were an embarrasment.
RobsonGreensleeves
Tinie Tantrum is good and he knows it but he's not doing himself or his progression any favours with is attitude.
