Johnny On The Spot: Manchester City supporters who have been schooled on the "international superstar in need of travel recovery" likes of Elano, Robinho, Adebayor and Tévez aren't used to this. Lest we forget, Kun Aguero had only been back from India with Argentina a couple of days before executing one of the most sharp yet calmly taken hat-tricks The Etihad Stadium is likely to see. The fact that these goals arrived upon waves of the scintillating attacking play that is fast becoming City's trademark should not be lost on anyone, let alone the loyal legion of City fans whose side have been pilloried as boring by countless hacks and pundits - until this season's first whistle sounded...Incredulously, some in The Street of Shame are raising question marks against City's defence which has conceded 3 goals in 4 games, shock horror...The statistics continue to pile up in City's favour and it remains extremely difficult for any Blue to keep their feet firmly planted. 4 league games, 4 wins, 15 goals to the good, 3 against and 2 clean sheets at Fortress Etihad = 12 points. Rewind one season and you'll find: 4 league games, 1 win, 2 draws, 1 defeat, 4 goals to the good, 2 against and 1 clean sheet = 5 points. Heady times...But perhaps the most telling statistic should be reserved for Wigan Athletic. Yesterday's annihilation should have registered many more goals for The Citizens, but before Roberto Mancini came to town, City had previously struggled to cope with Wigan winning only 1 of the 9 previous Premier League encounters. If you want to know just how far City have progressed, ask a Latics fan.
