Johnny On The Spot: It is the manner of this defeat that will hurt Manchester City supporters tonight. A truly awful performance saw The Blues trudge from the cautionary sublime to the absolutely ridiculous...Ajax engaged in a lap of honour at the final whistle and how their team effort and fine collective play merited it...The English Champions by contrast were abysmal. No two ways about it, this was an immensely disappointing showing considering how high were the stakes...City came set up to not get beat and paid a hefty price in deciding not to go through the gears when ahead through a fine Nasri goal. Allowing Ajax too much possession and criminally pisspoor marking were the side's ultimate undoing. The final throw of the dice smacked of sheer desperation. The entire senior squad strikeforce finished the game with three at the back but failed to mount the assault their emergency ensemble called for...Half way through this fiercely tough group with a point on the board, City need to beat all three of their Champion opponents now. Put in a shift like tonight and we are seriously staring at three or at least two heavy defeats.

When yaya is off form and I mean really not playing well, we lose the midfield and the defence has one of those nights that would not go amiss in a Monty Python Sketch. Pick me, pick me, Edin Dzeko, even I one of his biggest fans was asking why is he out there. I don't think we will even qualify for the Europa Cup this time. Bob's bogey is the Champions league nd we are destined not to win it again this season.

Booooooooooooo, out we go again. Might not even drop down into Europa this season though, a blessing in disguise some would say? I enjoy the Europa games myself but many find it a tedious distraction.

Disgrace of England. A qualificative place was taken off from Italy to be given to Germany because AC Milan had been kicked out in the last 16 for successive seasons. The UEFA hates England and hates English teams - do you think they would hesitate if they could bring the EPL to 3 CL qualificative places? I can't see 3 English teams in the CL but you are giving them plenty of reasons to do it! Farking laughing stock!

*****e the Europa League. We either get out of the (Most difficult group ever?) or we concentrate on the league and FA Cup. Agree with Buzz, yaya was totally anonymous tonight, and hate to say it, but Kompany was not much better. Really missed Zab and Silva tonight, but it's the players on the pitch that we should be counting on. FRlamp - how did you get on in your easy group last night?
