Johnny On The Spot: Fortress Etihad has finally been breached. This certainly wasn't the ding-dong contest that a legion of pundits predicted. City were ultimately undone by a deflected free kick following a stirring Carlos Tévez led comeback that once again led to a huge outpouring of relief from the Stretfords...Prior to that, an erratically refereed game which was firmly in The Blues hands at the start saw the Champions concede two soft goals against a rags side that looked there for the taking and here for the point...It was only after Roberto Mancini replaced Mario Balotelli, who alongside Yaya Touré and Samir Nasri put in a pisspoor shift that City came alive with venom and in point of fact had they taken their chances would have won this game with the rags firmly on the ropes and arguing amongst themselves in defence...Ironically it was El Apache, charging about like a man possessed who conceded the Van Persie freekick that Nasri helped in. Were City to have had Tevez's warrior application involved from the start, it's clear we'd have been looking at a very different outcome...But for this correspondent, regardless of that fact, City's midfield as a collective failed us today and the need for a midfield general is becoming acute. The defence, which was expertly marshalled by 19 year old Matija Nastasic was often left unprotected and this has been a key element in dropped points so far this season. And points of course is what it's all about. We're back to 6 points behind Stretford again but a long winter is yet to be crossed and as they were reminded again today, City aren't ever going to go away meekly into the night again. Gutted, great fight back after two sucker punches in the first half but one or two need to take a long hard look at themselves.
Bluedub
they say revenage is sweeter, check book out lol

How long before the standard "and of course remember that U*d are always stronger in the second half of the season" gets wheeled out.? It ain't over 'til it's over. Long way to go yet but it is difficult to beat a team like U*d when you are not playing with the same number of players. We were let down by Nasri, Mario and Yaya today. Not sure they should look Zaba in the eye after the game.
Skoorb
Hahahaha! Nice of you to skip over a perfectly onside goal that would have made it deservedly 3-0 and a clear cut penalty not given. But hey, we still won! Ohhhhhhh Robin Van Peeeeeeeeersie! Ohhhhhhh Robin Van Peeeeeeeeeeersie! PS. Also no mention of your scummy fans, who cant take a defeat and resort to throwing coins and fighting the security. classy City, very classy!

Unlucky fellas unbeaten run had to end and the home record too in the words of Balotelli "why is it always UTD " ,plucky come back to get to 2--2 but a fantastic piece of class for the winning goal money well spent . Happy days and merry Xmas to you all Can wait for the return leg .HO HO HO
nickster
Fair play Nickster, at least you have some grace in victory, pity the same can't be said for your fellow U*d fan above. Massive slice of luck rather than a fantastic piece of class I would say. Looking forward to the return leg myself by which time our strikers will hopefully have found their killer instinct again. Happy Xmas.
Bluedub
Skoorb, completely agree. I've sometime thought the same this season even when we've won. Mario, for me, will never be 'a City player'. Yaya would leave today if he could and Nasri is an enigma to me. On the unbeaten run, perhaps we can now start concentrating on winning games rather than not losing games (home & away). IMHO!
RobsonGreensleeves
Humilated in CL, beaten on home turf by their biggest rival this season is getting better and better, just hope they dont sack Mankini, he is the Arsene Wenger of Manchester. What no *****ty fans whinning about their normal referee conspiracy theories, maybe its because Utd should have had a clear cut penalty and a wrongly ruled offside goal... Maybe this will shut up the delusional bitters that keep clinging on the conspiracy theori and maybe not. Oh class act by you guys, throwing coins after players, and running on to the pitch after Rio.
nordkap
Nordkap, you do realise people like you are the reason U*d are so despised, don't you? You come on here to gloat after a win but where were you last May? You didn't even post on Vital Rag then, you went into hiding because you're a spineless coward.
Bluedub
You know something nordkap? You're kind of growing on me.
RobsonGreensleeves
Bloody gutted!!
tudor
ok they are 6 points ahead, but there's still 22 matches to go, so time to pull it back, as taggart says'' lose more than 5 matches and kiss the title goodbye'' so manure can lose only 2 more, so no pressure then eh lads? where as we can lose 3 more and still win the title, as we have not lost at all till today, so onwards and upwards.... CTID.
cityman51
RobsonGreensleeves glad you are able to read behind the lines and see it for what it is - a good old wind up. Bluedub please, you are the first to spew filth at Vital United, dont hide behind some moral high ground.
nordkap
Nerdkrap, wish you'd stop breathing mate. You are a waste of Norwegian oxygen.
fifthcolumnblue
Filthcrapblue did you enjoy that.. Run along now, back to your council flat
nordkap
When was the last time you were in Manchester nerdnob? Have you EVER been to Manchester, yet alone old toilet? You are just such a laughable cliche of the typical glory-hunting plastic rag that it's almost sad. But I'd still prefer it if you stopped stealing all that oxygen.
fifthcolumnblue
It's not difficult to take the moral high ground where you're concerned Nordkap, you're just a yellow belly troll.
Bluedub
Filfth I am surprised you havent been put down yet, like the dog you are. Anyways keep rambling, I guess you get a kick out of it.. Glory Glory Man United.
nordkap
'Bluedub thats right a troll, a plastic fan or whatever who the f.. cares, United is top of the league and you guys are squirming..
nordkap
Squirming? Haha. A long way to go yet dickhead, and we all remember what happened last season, 8 points ahead with 6 games to go and you bottled it, the worst capitulation by any side in PL history, although you went on the missing list so I'm not sure if you actually saw it, did you?
Bluedub
Haha you guys are squirming big time, first ever English champions to royally ***** up their CL campaign like you guys did. When *****ty crash out of the F.A. Cup as well, how long do you think your lunatic manager will last.
nordkap
Ermmmmm, how did U*d do in last year's CL as English champions? Our lunatic manager has won more major trophies at this stage of his career than old bacon chops had at the same stage of his career. You really are a numpty.
Bluedub
nordkap, the perfect example of the horrible, graceless United fan who are the most hated in the world. By the way your away fans are *****, winning a derby and only making noise when you score. Pathetic.
