Johnny On The Spot: Premier League leaders Manchester City end August seeing double figures in points and goal difference. Factor in a fourth straight clean sheet and you have the consumate perfect campaign's start. The extra icing on the sky blue cake being that Manuel Pellegrini's men have now broken another club record, this time establishing a run of 10 consecutive top flight wins. Undoubtedly, The Engineer's effervescent team have established a strong early season platform from which to build upon...Patience was the key today in overturning a limited Watford side directed by Quique Sanchez Flores to stick with extra strength super glue rather than twist... Once City had finally stretched The Hornets strikerless backline of ten brilliantly through Raheem Sterling, Flores re-deployed his men to try to play expansively. The game promptly opened up and the only wonder of the day is how this football match did not finish up at least 4-0 in City's favour...That said, I don't believe for a second that a razor sharp and fit looking City fully got of 3rd gear today, yet there were still some quite frankly awesome performances at work amongst some breathtaking movement, particularly in the second half...The pick of the bunch being Sterling, my Man of The Match. Not only can this lad catch cheetah's with cunning, he's an effective and willing defender, too. - Crystal Palace away next and we'll need all of our gears for that one! Stats Courtesy BBC Sport

Manuel Pellegrini: "It was not frustrating in the first half. You can't expect to win the game inside 45 minutes against a team who defends well. We made some changes and we created more chances and won the game. Raheem played very well. It was good for him to score. He worked very hard and I'm sure he'll score more goals."
